It is with great sadness that we at EFNA learned of the death Adam Kalinowski, President of Dystonia Europe.
Adam has been a dear friend of all at EFNA for many years. His warm presence will be remembered from his participation at many of our events and workshops.
Adam was a dedicated advocate for the dystonia community and worked tirelessly to raise awareness of this rare neurological movement disorder, which he was diagnosed with in 2006.
In 2016 Adam founded an online support group for patients from Poland, which marked the start of his career as a patient advocate. In the same year, he became a member of the Polish Dystonia Association (Polskie Stowarzyszenie Osób Chorych na Dystonię).
In 2017 Adam was elected a Dystonia Europe Board Member and in 2019 was elected as their President.
On behalf of all at EFNA, we extend our deepest sympathy at this very sad time to his family, friends, all at Dystonia Europe and the wider dystonia community. We hope that the memories you hold of Adam and deserved pride in his dedication to people living with dystonia, in Europe and beyond, will help you at this very difficult time.
May he rest in peace.
