We are delighted to announce that the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) has been appointed as a member of the European Commission’s Health Technology Assessment Stakeholder Network.
The Network has been established to facilitate contributions by a wide range of stakeholders to policy development related to Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in the European Union (EU).
Meaningful patient involvement in HTA is essential in ensuring that the interests of the affected patient population, their families, and the general public are accurately reflected in coverage and reimbursement decisions. Involving patient organisations such as EFNA is vital due to their unique understanding of the needs of a community as a whole. Our input can provide valuable insights into the real-world impact of healthcare technologies, ensuring that HTA practices take into account the diverse needs and preferences of patients. By involving patient organisations, HTA processes can become more patient-centered, transparent, and responsive, ultimately leading to the development and adoption of health technologies that better meet the needs of the communities they serve.
We look forward to actively participating in future discussions and to supporting initiatives that strengthen the role of patient involvement in HTA.
