We are pleased to announce that EFNA has joined the TRANSFORM Alliance.
The European Alliance for Transformative Therapies (TRANSFORM) is a multi-stakeholder Alliance that connects Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and policy-makers with patient groups, medical experts and associations, scientists, researchers, industry actors, networks and other relevant stakeholders.
TRANSFORM aims to foster effective dialogue and provide evidence-based policy recommendations to enable safe and timely patient access to cell and gene therapies, whilst ensuring the sustainability of healthcare systems.
“Many neurological conditions lack effective therapeutic intervention, with care pathways focused on managing symptoms. With increasing reports of cell and gene therapies for neurological conditions progressing through the pipeline, it is important to have appropriate policies in place to ensure safe, timely, equitable and affordable access, and follow up care for neurology patients across Europe” explained Orla Galvin, Executive Director at EFNA.
In joining TRANSFORM, EFNA can ensure MEPs are informed of the specific challenges of those affected by neurological conditions. Inclusion of the patient perspective is essential to help shape appropriate policy development regarding access to transformative therapies and follow up care. EFNA’s involvement with the European Alliance of Transformative Therapies in conjunction with the TRANSFORM MEP Interest Group provides a vehicle to drive policy change.
