We are delighted to announce the launch of EFNA’s new podcast- Brain Health Matters.
Through this podcast, we hope to raise awareness of how precious our brain health is, how many of us will be affected by neurological conditions and how, while many of those conditions are unavoidable, there are ways that all of us can protect and improve our brain health.
Neurological conditions are extremely common, with at least 1 in 3 of us affected in our lifetime. In episode 1 – “1 in 3”, we’ll hear from people whose lives were turned upside down by the onset of symptoms and how they have coped since their diagnosis.
This episode features Gary Boyle, who lives with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease, Nadia Malliou, who lives with chronic pain and absence seizures, and Joke Jaarsma, who is affected by Restless Legs Syndrome. We’ll also hear from Dr Orla Galvin, Executive Director at the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) and from two of our sponsors- Dimitrios Georgiopoulos, Head of Neurology & Immunology at Merck and Stephanie Ludwig, Global Patient Partnership Leader- Neuroscience at Roche.
You can hear the Brain Health Matters podcast here, or at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you like to listen to your podcasts!
In the next episode of Brain Health Matters we’ll be focusing on rare neurological conditions. We’ll hear from people living with them and hear about the policy work EFNA and its partners are undertaking in this area, so stay tuned for that!
We’ll have further episodes of the Brain Health Matters podcast and associated blog posts in our Patient Perspective on Brain Health series in 2024.
The Brain Health Matters podcast is written and produced by Elizabeth Cunningham on behalf of the European Federation of Neurological Associations, with support from Roche, Novartis, Merck, Alexion and Horizon Therapeutics.
