EFNA participation in ‘Digital Health 2030 – Perspectives in Motion’

On Thursday, 4 December, EFNA took part in the high-level panel discussion ‘Digital Health 2030 – Perspectives in Motion’, organised by the European Association of E-Pharmacies (EAEP). EFNA was represented by Iva Galovic, Programme and Engagement Manager, who joined a distinguished group of speakers to explore the future of digital health in Europe.

The panel brought together Martin Bumm, Chair of the EAEP E-Health Committee; Martin Dorazil, Deputy Head of Unit C.1 at DG SANTE, European Commission; and MEP Kristian Vigenin (S&D, Bulgaria), Member of the European Parliament’s SANT Committee. Together, they discussed how the rapid digitalisation of healthcare is reshaping the sector and how the coming years will be crucial for the European Union’s ability to successfully integrate innovation, interoperability, and patient-centred care.

During the discussion, Iva Galovic emphasised the importance of ensuring that digital transformation delivers tangible benefits for patients. She reiterated EFNA’s strong support for the OnHOME initiative – the Online Order and Home Delivery of Medicines Coalition. The initiative aims to ensure that all patients across the EU can benefit from a convenient, efficient, safe, and secure way of receiving their prescription medicines directly at home or at an address of their choice.

This approach is particularly important for people living with chronic conditions and for those residing in rural or remote areas, where access to healthcare services can be more limited. By supporting solutions such as OnHOME, EFNA continues to advocate for reducing health inequalities and ensuring that digital health innovation truly serves patients across Europe.
