2nd EU STROKE SUMMIT
Launch of the Stroke Action Plan for Europe
The Stroke Alliance for Europe (SAFE) kindly invites you to join the 2nd EU Stroke Summit and launch of the Stroke Action Plan for Europe
Wednesday 23 May from 13:00 to 15:00
Room ASP3G3 at the European Parliament.
In 2017, SAFE launched the Burden of Stroke in Europe Report to shed light on the stroke burden in Europe. The Report uncovered significant gaps as well as disparities between and within European countries across the entire stroke care pathway. It further showed that, between 2015 and 2035, an increase of 34% in the total number of strokes in Europe is expected.
To follow up on the Burden of Stroke findings, the 2nd EU Stroke Summit will serve as a platform to officially launch the Stroke Action Plan for Europe, which will outline recommendations for action to be taken by EU Member States to reverse the current trend. The Plan has been developed by leading European stroke experts together with SAFE and updates the current state of stroke care and outlines targets for 2030. It focuses on seven key domains to evaluate areas such as stroke prevention, health services organization and management as well as rehabilitation, life after stroke and research across Europe.
The Summit is kindly supported by MEPs Elena Gentile (S&D).
A sandwich lunch will be provided from 12:00 to 13:00 in the ASP 3D Bar Forum
A full invitation including the agenda and further information on the Stroke Action Plan will follow.
