The European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) is looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer to join our team.
The European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) is an umbrella group representing 20 pan-European neurology patient groups. Our slogan ‘Empowering Patient Neurology Groups’ encapsulates our goals as an association. We strive to add capacity to our members – allowing them to be the most effective advocates possible in their own disease-specific areas. EFNA embraces the concept of Partnership for Progress – working at a high level with relevant stakeholders including policy-makers, medical societies, scientific/research associations, patient partners, industry and other key opinion leaders.
Responsibilities and Duties of a Communications and Engagement Officer within EFNA:
- Ongoing to support to EFNA’s members including:
- Promoting their news and activities on social media and in the EFNA newsletter
- Responding to day-to-day enquiries (supported by the Executive Director)
- Sharing updates about events and other opportunities for engagement
- Preparation of social media posts (including graphics and/or other accompanying audio-visual material) and other needed external communication for EFNA projects, initiatives, events and other news
- Social media coverage and post-event news of meetings attended
- Preparation of meeting reports
- Preparation of written material such as news pieces for the EFNA website and visual project content like brochures, flyers, etc.
- Updating to the EFNA and OneNeurology websites with all the latest news
- Preparing content for and disseminating the bi-monthly ‘EFNA eZine’
- Preparing and disseminating the monthly Policy Bites and OneNeurology Global Policy Updates newsletters (content provided)
- Monthly updates to our partners at the European Brain Council (EBC) and European Patients’ Forum (EPF)
- Management of the EFNA contacts database
- Occasional in-person attendance of EFNA meetings
- Preparation for and attendance of external events, such as the annual EAN Congress, to represent EFNA at an exhibition stand and other planned sessions
- Set-up and support of online events such as virtual meetings or webinars
- Support the President, Executive Director and Senior Management Team in:
- Coordination of EFNA events and meetings
- Communications with the EFNA Membership
- Monitoring invitations
- Making travel & accommodation arrangements
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in communications and digital marketing
- Proficient in the use of: social media platforms (Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn/Instagram/YouTube), WordPress, Mailchimp, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Google Forms
- Experience of graphics platforms (e.g. Canva/Adobe Photoshop/Adobe InDesign), video-editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro), website/social media analytics and webinar hosting (Zoom/Teams) are desirable
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Understanding of GDPR regulation
- Prior knowledge or experience in health policy at the EU level is strongly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work accurately, with strong attention to detail
- Commitment to the vision and the mission of the European Federation of Neurological Associations
