Following on from successful EFNA/EFNS Awareness Sessions at the European Federation of Neurological Societies [EFNS] annual congress – it has been confirmed that both organisations will again work together on a joint session at the 2013 World Congress of Neurology.
The session entitled ‘The Future of Neurology’ will allow us to partner to improve health policy/provision for health professionals, researchers, patients and care-givers.
The chair will be Professor Donald Silberberg, former Dean of International Health at the University of Pennsylvania (co-author of a 1991 Institute of Medicine book on the global importance of neurologic and psychiatric disorders) and member of the US institute of Medicine.
The programme willexamine how successful partnerships between patient organisations and physicians can advance and improve neurology services for patients, health care professionals and health service providers. The session will use case studies to make an economic and societal argument for collaboration in advocating for increased resources nationally and internationally.
