Neuroalianza

neuroalianzaNeuroalianza comprises the following patients’ associations: CEAFA (Spanish Confederation for Associations of Relatives of People with Alzheimer and other Dementias), FEP (Spanish Parkinson Federation), EME (Multiple Sclerosis Spain), ASEM (Spanish Federation of Neuromuscular Diseases) and ADELA (Spanish Association for ALS: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). They have come together in a voluntary manner and independently in order to create a non-profit strategic partnership for health under the name of SPANISH ALLIANCE OF NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES: Neuroalianza.

Neuroalianza was born in 2012 with the aim of advocating both the rights and interests of people affected by neurodegenerative diseases, which represents a population exceeding 1,150,000 families and more than 400 associations. The goal is raising awareness amongst the general population and public administrations about the challenges that these diseases will pose for society as a whole as in view of both incidence and features, as well as to a progressive aging of population, these could end up becoming the prevailing type of diseases in Spain. In spite of the youth of Neuroalianza as an organization, we can say it had a powerful birth as the 5 entities and groups comprising it have a long, established track record and are regarded as patients’ organization with powerful influence in Spain. This partnering has caused that through Neuroalianza, work is being carried out to uphold common interest of its many members as the organization becomes a player of reference when speaking about neurodegenerative diseases in Spain.
