The data from 43 European countries shows some improvements in meeting the overarching SAP-E targets for stroke care and support.

Notable improvement has been shown in acute treatments, as well as the organisation and quality control of services. But the data also shows that much work still needs to be done to address equal access to stroke unit care, follow-up and life after stroke services and support.

SAFE are calling for all European countries to use their SST data to make urgent improvements to stroke care to ensure that everyone affected by stroke receives the care and support they need.
