“Every person with disabilities is entitled to respect for its integrity, equally with others”
– UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
The “INTEGRITY” Project was created by the National Organization of Persons with Disabilities of Serbia (NOOIS) through production of 6 clips and one documentary film, from June – October 2018. NOOIS is an ‘umbrella’ organizsation of persons with individual types of disabilities (PWDs), associations of legal advocates of persons with intellectual disabilities and interest organisations gathering persons with different types of disabilities – in total 800,000 PWDs in the Republic of Serbia.
The subject of the video content is the human rights of persons with disabilities and communication as a prerequisite for integration. The campaign was conducted on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and supported by the Serbian Ministry of Culture.
The purpose of the project is to encourage positive action of the broader community towards people with disabilities and reduce prejudices and stereotypes. Both public figures (journalists, musicians, athletes, artists) and people with different kinds of disabilities – physical, sensory and intellectual – who have succeeded in their respective fields, are the actors of this media content, while the film entitled “Communication Equals Interaction” is focused on communication with people with disabilities.
